Job Description: *
The Manager, Product Data is responsible for the development and execution of a core data strategy and the management of a team of product analysts focused on executing business intelligence, business rules and strategic data initiatives. The Manager, Product Data will work in collaboration with cross functional leaders to understand past/present/future data capture/storage/reporting working to turn existing data into actionable insights and intelligence-driven products. They will own the roadmap for future data products, influencing technology decisions and supporting all product lines to improve the accuracy, consistency, and automation around the delivery of business objectives. The Manager, Product Data will lead their team in collaborating with cross-functional teams through the development processes to deliver and launch customer-focused data products that achieve the product-specific objective of driving industry and business value through data-driven insights.
The Manager, Product Data is responsible for championing the use of insights that will direct our organization’s efforts towards decisions, innovations and initiatives with the highest impact including:

  • Owning the data product portfolio, driving the business case from concept to completion
  • Identifying key value propositions and plan, do, check, adjust activities around the identification and performance to key metrics
  • Working cross functionally to ensure all product initiatives deliver value to our customers
  • Achieving revenue goals
  • Assessing team makeup and proposing training, tools and resources to address any gaps
  • Tracking team performance to strategic goals
  • Conducting periodic checks on execution quality and product line specific initiatives to address variances in KPIs

Primary Job Responsibilities

  • Own the data product portfolio defining the customer experience, launch plans and success metrics for both sales strategy and customer adoption.
  • Collection and implementation of customer and internal stakeholder requirements to develop robust 1-3-5-year roadmaps
  • Guide team in their ability to synthesize analysis and results into compelling storylines used to influence key stakeholders and guide business decisions.
  • Lead and coordinate voice of customer sessions then prioritize iteration according to value proposition
  • Work across product lines so that products and programs are built with data opportunities in mind and mentor team to Identify data to be collected for measuring the success of new products and features.
  • Democratize data and insights as you strive to deliver self-service tools to your partners and enable them to make better decisions more quickly
  • Own go-to-market coordination working with cross functional stakeholders to develop training, sales-kit material, marketing content and internal readiness plans.
  • Obsessively understand the industry and its segments, anticipating needs and gaps which data and insights can fill
  • Monitors market trends and needs and responds accordingly by recommending appropriate countermeasures
  • Executes product decisions within product portfolio to support business objectives
  • Establishes, builds, and maintains key internal and industry relationships.
  • Serves as Subject Matter Expert on business intelligence and data insights portfolio
  • Defines and conducts benchmarking plan, including ongoing analysis
  • Aligns team and tasks to ensure all delivery targets are met
  • Evaluates prime opportunities and appropriate timing for product launch
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent work experience required.
  • Minimum 5 + years’ experience in analytics and/or data product delivery desired. Experience in creating software and solutions for the collision repair industry or the adult education product space strongly desired.

  • The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Computer operations (including email) and telephone is approximately 50%. When traveling, the environment may be a collision repair facility, insurance training center, school classroom or hotel meeting room. The noise level in the environment is moderate to loud.
  • The incumbent is required to regularly stand, walk, sit, handle and finger, reach outward, reach above shoulder, climb, and crawl, squat or kneel and bend. The incumbent may be required to lift and/or carry up to 25 pounds. The incumbent is required to be able to hear and smell. The incumbent is required to see, with near, color, peripheral and depth perception vision.
