Automotive Collision Center Manager

As a collision center manager, you will lead and manage our automotive dealer accident repair center, ensuring sales, financial, and customer satisfaction goals are achieved. Your responsibilities overall include examining cars in the auto body shop that have been in an accident and estimating the cost of parts and labor to fix each vehicle. You will plan daily collision repair schedules to ensure efficient workflow, assign work, supervise the parts department, estimate repair time, and meet customer deadlines. You are also expected to identify and solve quality issues and repair delays quickly. Other duties include inspecting repairs to verify that standard operating procedures are followed and that you meet strict quality standards before delivering vehicles to customers. You may also manage the annual budget and hold team meetings and training events to ensure staff members are trained to our defined processes, manage the team to exceed the customer expectations, while achieving departmental profits.

Responsibilities:

  • Forecasts goals and objectives for the department and strives to meet them
  • Trains, motivates, and monitors the performance of all body shop employees
  • Directs and schedules the work of all body shop employees
  • Establishes and maintains good working relationships with insurance companies and adjusters
  • Establishes and maintains good working relationships with customers to encourage repeat and referral business
  • Monitors technicians’ daily productivity reports and corresponding payroll records
  • Gives fair estimates on costs and time required for bodywork
  • Follows up on parts department orders to ensure parts availability
  • Monitors progress and completion of vehicles in the shop, ensuring that proper repair and safety procedures are followed
  • Maintains high-quality service repairs and minimizes comebacks
  • Checks quality of completed work
  • Handles customer complaints immediately and according to dealership’s guidelines
  • Monitors paper flow to ensure that all documents are accounted for, filled out completely and legibly, and filed or distributed to the appropriate parties
  • Ensures that all body shop receivables are collected in a timely manner
  • Understands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state, and local regulations that affect body shop operations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know, etc. Provides necessary training
  • Ensures that proper safety equipment is available and being used properly
  • Facilitates and/or conducts technical training and sends employees to appropriate training as needed
  • Monitors the maintenance of paint booths, frame straightening equipment, and other large fixed assets to ensure long-term usage and value
  • Keeps abreast of new equipment and tools available and recommends purchases
  • Ensures that the work areas are kept clean
  • Demonstrates exemplary integrity, serving as a role model in exuding trust and honesty, and maintaining the highest professional standards
  • Maintains a personal demeanor consistent with the Company’s culture, contributing to a positive, supportive work environment for all employees of the dealership

Qualifications:

5-7 years of dealership collision center management experience, in-depth knowledge of the collision repair process, quality standards, and relevant regulations, strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills, as well as the ability to multi-task and solve problems quickly. Previous experience managing positive customer and insurance company relationships. Ability to recruit, train and retain associates.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $100,000.00 – $150,000.00 per year
